Again, thank you all for the outpouring of support. Attempting to conceive a child on my own is very scary, but I’m so thrilled to have such a big support team behind me!
*If you’re just tuning in, I am currently NOT pregnant. My goal for this year is to lose weight, pay off debt, and prepare to conceive a child through IUI/sperm donor.
This week wasn’t as monumental as last week when I broke off communication with an “old friend” and paid off a big tax bill. But I did stay focused on my goals, and I earned a sticker every day!
The week in workouts:
Monday: Rest day (but I still got a sticker because rest days are important, too)
Tuesday: 27 minute walking aerobics video on OnDemand. I felt lame at first prancing around my living room, but it was a great workout!
Wednesday: I created my own AMRAP workout and kicked my own butt!
Thursday– Rest day, but I bought a 15 lb. Kettlebell! They’re usually $40 at Target, but I found one at Marshall’s for $14.99.
Friday– 20 minute walk
Saturday– 2 mile walk
Sunday– Walk around Magic Kingdom for 6 or so hours with Kelly.
I left the house around 3pm with about 7,000 steps and ended up with over 17,000 for the day!
I mentioned last week that I wanted to start using the stickers as motivation to clean up my home, and I got some wonderful recommendations on how to best go about tidying up my home. My friend Alison suggested I try Unf*ck Your Habitat, a not-so-subtle, blunt version of FlyLady. The programs are similar in that they both give you a list of things to do every night to get ready for the next day, and they both give you a mission to do every week. But FlyLady just gets to be too cumbersome for me to handle. I like the easier, more blunt way UFYH goes about it.
I started the housework goals on Thursday. My goal was to complete:
-Make the bed
-15 minutes of decluttering
-Clean off all kitchen counters and wipe down
It’s amazing how much can actually get done in 15 minutes. My kitchen counters had been quite a mess for a long time. It’s where I do my crafts (see my Etsy shop ad in the sidebar), and I’m really terrible at keeping up with cleaning the dishes. But one 15-minute session got the job done, and the counters have been spotless since Thursday.
And my desk needed a complete overhaul. Files were piling up, and it was getting pretty dusty. Consider the desk unf*cked in less than 15 minutes!
I paid off that semi-big tax bill last week, and I said I was going to pay off a credit card this week. Well, I had forgotten about the deadline to get health insurance from the Marketplace, so that will be my first priority. This will be the first time I can carry a maternity rider at a decently-priced premium. Yay!
I’ve been couponing for a really long time, but I’m starting to get really into it. Right now, I’m planning a shopping excursion to four different stores to get the best deals. Who would be interested in a post about how I coupon?

How do you like the new girl in my header? Plain Jane (that’s my name for her) picked up weight-lifting as a hobby.
I’m not really adding any additional goals to complete this week than what I’m already doing. Sometimes I don’t even get to sit down until 11 or midnight because I’m trying to get all of my steps in, clean the house, etc. So for right now, I’m sticking with my current goals and making them all a habit.
A question for you all- what are you all doing to motivate yourself this week to stay focused and on track?
