Wow, thank you all so much for your overwhelming support after I shared my 2014 goals with you! I was very hesitant to post all of my baby-making goals with all of you, but I’m so glad I did. I’ve been putting myself, my thoughts, and my life on the internet for 9 years now, and this was by far the most honest and real post I had ever shared. And I’m so grateful to everyone who has taken time out of their day to send me FB messages and emails to show support and offer up suggestions and recommendations. I’m really looking forward to sharing some of these recommendations with you! But for now, it’s time for an update!
This week on the weight loss front, I had three goals each day.
-Do one plank
-Track all of my food
-Complete at least 20 minutes of activity
If I did all 3, I gave myself a sticker in my planner.
As you can see, I got a sticker all 7 days. I feel really childish being so motivated by stickers, but it’s working!
The week in workouts recap:
Monday- 20 minute walk
Tuesday- this hellacious workout. I made it an AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) in 20 minutes, and I scaled the wall sit back to 20 seconds. I made it through 2.5 rounds in 20 minutes, and I felt this all the way until Friday. Holy crap!
Wednesday- 20 minutes of stretching & yoga
Thursday- Rest day. I still gave myself a sticker though because rest days are important too!
Friday- 40 minute walk
Saturday- Water jogging for 20 minutes
Sunday- Intense house cleaning all day long
Also, I’m the proud new owner of a FitBit Flex! (and some new stickers)
I purchased it on Friday, and let me tell you, I am OBSESSED! I really love all of the information it spits out.
I’m really addicted to getting in the required 10,000 steps, so it has “forced” me to take Molly for longer walks. I think she’s definitely enjoying it. She’s sleeping longer at night and looks so much happier during the day. And the longer walks give me a lot of time to reflect on my day, and it gives me an opportunity to take a break from what can be a very stressful job.
One of the things I didn’t think I’d need was the sleep tracker, but I’m finding myself really excited to see the tracker each morning when I wake up.
Here’s Friday night’s:
And Saturday night’s:
I slept for less time on Saturday night, but I woke up feeling so much more awake than the day before. It’s definitely something I’m looking forward to tracking and finding links between my daily activities and my sleep patterns.
If you want to be friends with me on FitBit, my profile can be found here.
I’m adding an additional habit this week. In order to get my sticker, I must drink at least 60 ounces of water. Baby steps, people. Baby steps.
My weight actually stayed the same this week, but that’s because I haven’t completely reined in the caloric intake. I’m working on that, and I’m deciding which “eating plan” I should use.
Update on Financial Goals:
I paid off my state tax bill last week, and I’m paying off another small credit card at the end of this week. Yay!!
Update on my quest to become a domestic goddess:
I decided to also do the sticker thing for household stuff, but I need to come up with the 3 things I need to do every day. I’m also planning on following FlyLady soon! If you haven’t checked out her website, I highly recommend it. She’ll give you baby steps to do every day so that your home will eventually be “company ready”. Right now, I’m too embarrassed to open the door for the FedEx guy, so I have work to do!
In other news:
I did something yesterday I had been wanting to do for a very long time. I ended all communication with a “friend” I’ve had for 10 years. It was inappropriate and unhealthy, and I was finally ready to put it behind me so that I can finally move on to bigger and better things. It was truly one of the hardest things I’ve had to do in a really long time, but I got through it with the help of my family and my very supportive circle of friends.
On to next week!
